Visit Venezia

Accessible Venice

Plan Venice around your access needs. Three starting points for wheelchair users and visitors who need to limit walking, with transport, barriers and useful official contacts.

Plan for your needs

Before booking, send the venue the dimensions of your mobility aid and ask for doorway widths, lift dimensions, toilet transfer space and photos of the actual entrance. Decide how long you want to be out and where you can rest. Check weather, tides and service notices on the day. Smooth surfaces, available seats and quiet conditions are not guaranteed.

Sensory access

For blind and partially sighted visitors, explore the Peggy Guggenheim Collection’s Doppio Senso programme and ACTV’s Fermata Amica service. Check booking and assistance arrangements directly. For hearing or sensory needs, request written directions, available captions and quieter visiting options from the venue.

Preparing offline support…

Recent pages and images are saved on this device as you browse. Unvisited guides and external websites need an internet connection. Offline information may be out of date; check transport and admission rules online before travelling. Saving a heart in My Venice does not download a guide.
