Visit Venezia

A guide for a better Venice journey.

Independent, curious and dedicated to Venice and its lagoon.

What this guide is for

VisitVenezia.net is an independent travel guide owned and published by Doribene. English is the primary edition, with Italian and German translations available. See our company details and legal notice. We bring together neighbourhood introductions, attraction guides, island ideas and practical routes to help you make informed choices and leave time for discovery.

We are not the City of Venice, the municipal tourism office or an attraction ticket seller. Links marked as official resources take you to the relevant city service, museum or operator.

How the guides are made

The guides combine research from official visitor resources with editorial route planning and AI-assisted drafting. They do not claim a recent personal visit to every venue. Historical context, practical distinctions and nearby suggestions are written for travellers planning an independent trip.

Each guide links to its principal official sources. Information was reviewed for this edition on 5 October 2026. Transport, admission, closures and city rules can change; the operator’s current information takes precedence.

Photography and attribution

We use real photographs with documented reuse permissions. Photographer and licence details are listed in our photography credits. Images may be resized or cropped to fit the design.

Travel with consideration

Venice is a living city. Our responsible travel guide encourages thoughtful choices in streets, markets, religious spaces and the lagoon.

A growing editorial project

This edition focuses on the six sestieri, the principal visitor islands, major monuments and practical planning. It is a starting point for a deeper relationship with the city, rather than an exhaustive catalogue of every building or event.

Preparing offline support…

Recent pages and images are saved on this device as you browse. Unvisited guides and external websites need an internet connection. Offline information may be out of date; check transport and admission rules online before travelling. Saving a heart in My Venice does not download a guide.
